Spring Break 2010

We decided we would stick close to home this year and discover some of the great things about MN. We headed up to Lutsen with our good friends, the Davis', for a week of snow skiing and family fun. Normally late March in northern MN is still cold and snowy, but not this year. It was so warm - 60's and even got into the 70's one day. The slopes were still open, but I have never skied in conditions like that  - slush, mud, water, grass right next to the slopes. No gloves, hats or even coats needed the second day. Ella was skiing in her short sleeve shirt part of the time. We signed the kids up for ski school for the first day and they did great! By the 2nd day they were skiing all over the place. The men shared a ski jacket and took turns watching the 2 year olds. Scott was a good sport as skiing is not is favorite past time.

We loved to joke with Scott about him being our "big bunny".

Notice Lake Superior in the background.

We stayed at this great house on Lake Michigan. It was fun for the kids to explore and throw rocks in the lake. We had a big bon fire and roasted marshmallows one night. Spencer told the kids he would give them $1 each if they would jump in the lake (40 degrees). To our shock they all got their swim suits on and did it! We had movie nights and played a lot of games decorated eggs and had an egg hunt and just had a great time relaxing. We taught the Davis' Settlers of Catan and after the kids went to bed the competition got pretty fierce :).  We took a ton of pics...
