Scott and I took a trip to England last week and had an amazing time. We flew into London and then rented a car and headed out on a tour of the Cotswolds. Our first destination was Bath. The minute we stepped off the plane, Scott started speaking in his British accent which made for some amusing times as he was also trying to figure out how to drive on the left side of the car and on the left side of the road. He loved to swear in British when it got really tense in the round-abouts. Boy some of the roads in the UK are super narrow, especially when cars are parked on both sides of the street. I tried REALLY hard to be a supportive co-piolet. I was just glad not to be in the drivers seat. Overall I was impressed with Scott's left-handed driving skills. Scott loves to be in charge of the camera which means he took a lot pictures of me. I wish I would have grabbed the camera more, so it doesn't look like I was the only
one on the trip.
Here is some of the scenery from the VW golf - the countryside was seriously amazing! These pics do not do it justice.
We discovered on wikipanion (Scott loves to reference the wiki anywhere and anytime) that the yellow fields were rapeseed. They cultivate it to make canola oil.
In Bath we stayed at a B&B called Chestnuts House. The location was perfect and the accommodations and breakfast were very nice. Because life was so crazy before we left, Scott and I had no idea what we were going to do in each place we visited. We hadn't researched anything about Bath before the trip other than lodging, so we just asked the proprietor at the B&B to point us in the right direction and we headed out with a tour map to explore the town. Just walking with Scott is great and in a beautiful place with tons of history is even better. Luckily, once we got to the center of town there were plenty of signs to point us in the right direction.

I loved this little shop and wish I could have bought an antique map for my home, but they were a little spendy to say the least.
It rained a little off and on.
We ate at Jamie Oliver's restaurant our first night in the UK. It was a fun atmosphere and pretty good food. I guess we flew all the way to the UK to eat Italian.

Sounds like a well deserved break. I wish we would have known you were coming - we would have tried to coax you into "hopping the pond" over to Ireland. We've been here now, since January. So far, so good. Send me an email and let me know how you are! Jona (kap) Tuft
