Calvin turned 6 on May 12th and he was so excited! Cal had been planning his party for at least 6 months and was set on having a scooter theme. May snuck up on us super fast so I had to throw something together last minute. Probably the simplest B-day party I have ever done. We had all the kids bring scooters, decorated them for a "parade," and then headed down to an empty cul-de-sac by our house for some scooter games. I really wanted to make a homemade cake, but ran out of time and got a skate board cake from Target. Cal was thrilled with the party and I always have to remind myself that's all that really matters.
Calvin constantly wants to be outside riding his scooter, bike or running around the cul-de-sac with his friends. There is a little stream close to our house that he and some buddies have been fishing in too. Calvin started making little ramps out of some extra wood we had laying around in the garage. They weren't very sturdy, so I thought getting him a real ramp for his b-day would be fun. It was a huge hit and Cal has logged many hours trying his "tricks." He also got a skate board and fishing pole to add to his boy adventures!
Every party has to end with some dad wrestling time!
