Caroliners

Caroline turned 7 in November and was thrilled to invite some friends to Pump it Up for her birthday party. I got a great deal on the party because we did it the day before Thanksgiving, so the kids were out of school. When you do parties on weekdays before 3:30 the price is almost cut in half.

Caroline is having a great year in 1st grade and has really developed a love for reading and art. For the new year she brought home a reading calendar and has been asked to read 300 minutes for the month. Since Jan 1st caroline has been a little obsessed with the calendar and will probably reach that goal by the end of the week. When not reading, Caroline will spend much of her time at home sitting at the kitchen table doing some sort of art project. For Christmas she got a delux wooden art box with a built-in easel which she absolutley loves. It's so fun to give them gifts that are educational and that they actually use on a daily basis. Caroline also received an American Girl Doll for her birthday and has had fun dressing her with the help of Grandma Skeeles and Grandma Baldwin.

Caroline's other favorite activities include: gymnastics, musical theater class, piano, swimming, going to both grandma's houses and playing with friends. Caroline can definitely suffer from the middle child syndrome on many days and while it drives me nuts, I feel like I can relate best because I also was a middle child. While there are a lot of "what about me" moments, she has developed a very sweet personality and is very sensitive to the needs of others.
