Twins Game with Cal

It is a very rare occasion when both Scott and I get to spend time with just one of our kids. Last week we got lucky! Scott was offered some great tickets to the Twins game (thanks to the General) on Wednesday night. At first he wasn't going to take them because Ella and Caroline had an Activity Days sleepover and Cal had t-ball practice. He called to talk if over with me and we decided we could just go late to the game and get a babysitter for Millie so that we could take Calvin all by himself. Cal was soooo excited. When we got to the game and discovered that our seats were the 2nd row behind the dugout, Scott was  elated. It was a magical night for several reasons:
  • the new Twins Stadium was so fun and it was mine and Cal's first time there
  • the weather was perfect
  • my boys were in pure heaven
  • I kept thinking about my dad and how excited he would have been to be at that game in such great seats.  I think he may have been watching his grandson from above that night.
  • We made it on the Jumbotron - the cameras came down right by us and Scott propped Cal up on the seat and the camera man turned to us and Cal was front and center smiling away. It was so cute and oh how I wish I would have taken a picture of that.
  • the Twins won and at the end of the game the last batter from the Colorado Rockies took his batting gloves off and tossed them in the stands right at Cal's feet!

The new stadium is right in the middle of the city. It is so cool to see the tall buildings all around it.

Cal got a big pretzel, cotton candy, peanuts and a soda - it's so easy to
say "yes" when you just have one child

We were on that big screen.
