Caroline turned 9 in November and decided it was time to get her ears pierced. She had been planning to do it with her friend, Avery, for a long time and they were so excited to finally do it together. Their other friends, Camryn and Sarah, heard about their plans and decided to come along too. So we had 4 screaming girls getting their ears pierced at the same time. They were hilarious and so cute. Caroline was a little nervous, but was so happy when it was all done.
What a fun memory for these girls!
Caroline was so excited to get a pottery wheel for her b-day gift. We tried it out and it was a disappointment. It did not work like we imagined - oh well. She got lots of other crafty gifts to keep our art obsessed girl busy.
We decided to have an Art party and there is this cool art studio close to our house that I was so excited to find. I had been sick for a couple of weeks and didn't have the energy to do a home party, so this was perfect. She chose a horse themed party. They learned how to draw a horse head using pastels and then made a glass bead necklace with a horse charm. I could not believe how well all the girls did. Caroline was in heaven.
the finished products! Scott (the photographer) left with Millie and Cal before the party ended, so I didn't get a pic of the super cute necklaces.
Horse cupcakes!
The goodie bags - I made these cute flower hair clips that my friend, Chelsea, introduced me to.
Happy Birthday Sweet Caroline!
At age 9 you love: anything artsy, friends, clothes, sleeping in, make-up, getting your back scratched, singing, dancing, library, dates with mom and dad, activity days, chocolate, teasing your brother, horses, the color orange, reading, reading and more reading.
